Hamilton Art Gallery

Hamilton Art Gallery is famous for its outstanding collections of fine and decorative arts including the fabulous Shaw Bequest. Silver, glass and porcelain, oriental ceramic, furniture, paintings and prints, including Australian art, are featured in six modern galleries.
The Gallery’s rare collection of 18th century paintings by Paul Sandby, known as ‘The Father of English Watercolour’ is unrivalled in Australia and beautifully displayed in a recreation of an English drawing room. The other major Sandby collection is owned by the Queen and housed at Windsor Castle.
The Gallery’s permanent collection of 8000 artworks is complemented with a program that features some of the finest temporary exhibitions touring Australia.

Jan's Fine Glass

Jan Hetherington is a renowned Glass Artist in the Western District, and prides herself in creating "that special gift" in kiln formed glass, accompanied by limestone sculpture. You can visit Jan's Fine Glass studio and gallery at her 'Aringa' property in Minhamite, Western District -where Jan happily welcomes potential buyers (by appointment) to peruse through her gallery. Bus tours are also welcome. Jan also exhibits her work at selected markets and galleries in Victoria and South Australia. Workshops are availiable and bookings can be made to order.

Kranz Art Studio

Kranz Art Studio is situated in the township of Dunkeld and is well sign posted and very easy to access to any visitors including those whom have a disability. What is really unique about the Kranz Art Studio is that all paintings are painted direct as no photos have ever been used. Subject matter is wide for there are portraits, still life, landscape, plus a huge array of all sorts of subject matter painted. Not to mention a good display of representation of the Grampians plus a children section also. Mediums used are oils, watercolours, pastel and charcoal. Pricing is very affordable and a lay by is most certainly available.

Off The Rails Gallery

Off the rails gallery is an artist –run initiative based in Dunkeld’s historic railway station constructed in the 1870’s.
There is a large well-lit gallery space and smaller adjoining room which is often used for showing video – based work.
The six artists who run Off the Rails Gallery regularly show their own work which includes paintings, sculpture, photography, woven tapestry, prints, ceramics, videos and mixed media installations. The group also encourages other artists and community art groups to use the space.
The gallery is regularly open from 10am to 4pm on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month to coincide with the towns Gardens & Galleries program.
