The Southern Grampians Shire Council provides assistance to event and conference organisers.
To assist with the development and growth of your event, Southern Grampians Shire Council Events Coordinator can provide assistance in the following ways:
- Venue site inspections
- Accommodation referral service
- Compiling bids for conferences/events
- Promotional material, maps and more
- Pre and post touring options and social programs
- Promotion on the Southern Grampians Shire website and events calendar brochure.
EVENTS FUNDING ASSISTANCE
Southern Grampians Shire Council Events Funding Assistance Program has been revised.
Southern Grampians Shire Council recognises that we can improve our tourist drawing power by conducting a stronger calendar of events whilst providing social capital, community and economic benefits to the community. Funding is available to all incorporated community groups and organisations.
Minor Events Assistance Program
Aims to attract, develop and promote minor community events which have the potential to generate significant community benefits. Up to $500 is available.
Events funding can be used for; Promotion and advertising, improved product development and enhancing arts and cultural development.
Dates for Applications:
Round 1-Events held during April-June (Close February 1)
Round 2-Events held during July-September (Close May 1)
Round 3-Events held during October-December (Close August 1)
Round 4-Events held during January-March Close (November 1)
Major Events Assistance Program
Aim is to attract, develop & promote major new events and conferences and to assist with the promotion of existing events and conferences. The event needs to demonstrate the capacity to attract audiences from outside the Shire, provide economic and promotional benefits to the Shire, generate media exposure and provide an innovative program. Up to $2000 is available.
Dates for Applications:
Round One: Applications close 1 February (for events taking place between 1 July & 31 December)
Round Two: Applications close 31 July (for events taking place between 1 January & 30 June)
Special Events of Regional Significance
This program reflects Council’s recognition of the capacity of special events of regional significance to generate substantial economic and promotional benefits to the Shire. Over $2000 is available. Applications will be accepted at any time but must be submitted 6 months prior to the event.

Marquee Hire
Southern Grampians Shire Council offers Shire Based community events free hire of the Shire marquee. The Marquee package includes a 6x9m marquee, 4 market umbrellas and a fire extinguisher. The marquee is not available for private functions.
